By Richard K Riley The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention held a Ribbon event in front of Historic Courthouse. Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in community anti-drug events, young people pledge to live a drug-free life and pay tribute to DEA Special Agent Enriqué “Kiki” Camaren.

Trunk-a-Treat at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church was a great success

Friends and family of Myrtle Lake Baptist Church came out for Wednesday and were told to bring their trunk, their car trunk that is, decorated and ready to hand out candy. Folks could either bring wrapped candy to the Welcome Center or make a financial donation to the Church.

Trunk or Treat Festival at New River Elementary School by Ron Stuelcken featured Games,Food,Fun and Treats on Friday, Oct. 25th , 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bus Loop. Students walked to the New River Elementary Bus Loop for free candy. In addition to trunk or treat, there was a fall festival with plenty of tickets for games, food and more.

7th Annual Spooky Tails Halloween Party and Pet Costume Contest at Parick Kennell K-9 Fundraiser

7th Annual NAMI, (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Education and Awards Autumn Gala

Erik Waxler was the Emcee for the evening with Commissioner Pat Mulieri reading the Resolution and Pastor Andrea Esposito giving the Invocation. The music was provided by D.J.Frankie. Pete Earley who wrote "Jails and Prisons; the new Asylums” was the Keynote Speaker.

Wells Fargo Grand Opening in Trinity with Central Pasco, West Pasco Chambers

When it came to a grand opening last week, staff members at Wells Fargo Advisors weren’t horsing around. Four horses pulled the colorful Wells Fargo stagecoach during the event at the new office at 11300 S.R. 54. Spectators, ranging from youngsters to seniors, clamored to take rides around the parking lot in the stagecoach. The replica of the vintage vehicle provided nostalgia of passengers ferried across the Old West in the 19th century.

Twice a year, The Christian Edge and the Lacoochee/Trilby/Trilacoochee Steering Committee (LTT) cooperate with local organizations and churches to clean up the northeast Pasco County area. This time, our major participant was the Progressive 4-H club of the Dade City area.
Our guest celebrity was our new principal for Lacoochee Elementary School, Latoya Jordan.

Free Family Movie at Avalon Park West in Wesley Chapel

It was great seeing everyone at this month's Free Family Movie at Avalon Park West in Wesley Chapel called, Let it Shine, at Dark. Specialy nice was seeing the folks at Savanna Church and providing me (and everyone else) with FREE popcorn!
