The Wesley Chapel Montessori School at Lexington Oaks held its Grand Opening with The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce on August 13.  The Grand Opening allowed the community to tour the school, meet the staff, and see the unique classroom materials and learn about all the great things in store for the children of Wesley Chapel.  The Wesley Chapel Montessori School offers quality pre-school education and is currently accepting any gently used books for their growing library collection. The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce held their August business breakfast at Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club.  Along with a breakfast buffet, members had a chance to hear Sal Nuzzo, the Research and Public Policy Manager for the Florida Chamber of Commerce speak.  Founded in 1998, the Chamber has seen amazing growth. Today, the Chamber has 479 members, and is here to serve our business community.

The Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce and the Trinity-Odessa Chamber of Commerce presented a Candidate Forum at the Keystone Community Church for the Pasco County Commission District 2 and the Pasco County School Board District 5. Questions were solicited from citizens and chamber members. The public was not be permitted to speak during the Forum, however were offered index cards to write questions to be given to the moderator to consider and ask as time permitted.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently invited well-known local watercolorist, Bob McAnespie, member of both National Watercolor Society and Florida Watercolor Society, to instruct members at one of their weekly arts and crafts session.  The class was a great success with Mr. McAnespie expertly guiding the ladies, many of whom had never worked with water colors before.   Members proudly left the class with their own masterpieces to frame.

Pasco-Hernando State College held The Laker/Lutz News XL Launch Party on August 5th.  The Laker/Lutz News has increased the size of their paper that reaches more than 64,000 residents in Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills and Dade City.  The paper is now six inches longer to include several new changes, for example, containing two sections: The new B Section becomes a second front page to give more prominence to feature stories. The back page of the A Section becomes a high-profile sports page.

The Eye Care Professionals of Tampa Bay, LLC, located on S.R. 54 about a mile west of where it meets S.R. 56 (at Oak Grove Blvd. in Lutz), is growing to better serve patients not only in its local area, but in New Tampa and Wesley Chapel as well. Beginning July 21, the office will be open an extra day each week and an additional optometric physician will be seeing the patients that day. Rick Robinson, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale in 1999. He will begin seeing patients on Mondays, when the office previously had been closed.
