Wesley Chapel Hyundai + Mazda, Veterans Elementary, Girl Scouts donate to Farmworkers Self-Help Teen Center

When Roger Traboulay, scout leader for troop 1263 in Wesley Chapel, contacted Kelly Mothershead, Community Relations Manager at Hyundai, Mazda and Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel with an idea for teaching volunteerism and community service the girls of local Girl Scout Troop 1263. “ I gave them several different types of opportunities and they decided they would like to get involved in school supplies for children in our area.

The Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce and the Trinity-Odessa Chamber of Commerce presented a Candidate Forum at the Keystone Community Church for the Pasco County Commission District 2 and the Pasco County School Board District 5. Questions were solicited from citizens and chamber members. The public was not be permitted to speak during the Forum, however were offered index cards to write questions to be given to the moderator to consider and ask as time permitted.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently invited well-known local watercolorist, Bob McAnespie, member of both National Watercolor Society and Florida Watercolor Society, to instruct members at one of their weekly arts and crafts session. The class was a great success with Mr. McAnespie expertly guiding the ladies, many of whom had never worked with water colors before. Members proudly left the class with their own masterpieces to frame.

Land O’ Lakes High cross country coach Kris Keppel is up for a national award recognizing his coaching.Keppel is one of 25 finalists for the Brooks 2014 Inspiring Coach of the Year Award. As of Thursday, he was in first place to win with more than 12,600 votes. Keppel, who has coached for 20 years, was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer last September and gets chemotherapy three weeks each month. Pasco County Opens a New Fire Rescue Station with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Pasco County Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Fire Rescue Station No. 30 located at 7951 Massachusetts Avenue, New Port Richey. Dedication ceremonies for the new 8,110 square foot facility were held on July 22. The ceremony included members of the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator, Fire Chief and other dignitaries. An open house for viewing the new fire station followed the dedication. “This new state-of-the-art facility will serve the citizens in this area for many years to come,” said Pasco Fire Chief, Scott Cassin. “
