Thousands came out for the 3rd Annual Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary Freedom Festival and Fireworks Show to celebrate their love for the Community and our Country. Activities included Bicycle Decorating Contest, Little Miss and Mr Firecracker Pageant, Watermelon Eating Contest and more! The fireworks show started at 9:30pm. Volunteers from the Florida Hospital of Wesley Chapel and the Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary over 8 hours from set up to take down for this growing event. The Bicycle decorating, Watermelon eating contests, and the Little Miss and the Little Mr Firecracker Pageants, were the big draw for adults and kids of all ages but the most entertaining event was the Fireworks with special thanks from our local fireman and the management of the Shops at Wiregrass who said...

After a closely contested 90 minutes that ended level at 0-0, the dream run for America in the 2014 World Cup ended on the foot of winger Kevin De Bruyne in the opening minutes of overtime. Belgium's Romelu Lukaku then scored again in the 104th minute of overtime, putting a dagger into the collective heart of the country.

The Wesley Chapel Lions Club conducted a Diabetes Testing event at Wesley Chapel NISSAN. Over the course of one weekend, volunteers from the Wesley Chapel Lions Club tested 44 people and only had to give 2 referrals to see doctors. It was a great turn out and if you own or work for a company please contact the Wesley Chapel Lions Club and so they can come to your place, FREE of charge and do Diabetes screenings. The Rotary Club of New Tampa Evening and the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce sponsored the First Annual Health and Fitness Fair at The Shops at Wiregrass and Florida Hospital. It was a fun and dynamic health and fitness event for the whole family:

On October 17, 2013 United States Air Force MSG Matthew Feldhouse was enjoying a quiet walk among the Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, Florida . Matthew had served his country for over twenty years and several deployments to foreign countries. On his last deployment as he left to serve in Kurkistan, he left behind his 1998 Honda Prelude which had broken down and was in need of serious repair. Little did he know that Tim Harvey and members of the ‘Warriors”, a male group of church members from the Grow Life Church had a plan to make his return a joyful one.

Over 10,000 men, women, children and their pets donned their pick colored outfits to raise funds to help the American Cancer Society through the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The walk started at the Shops at Wiregrass with a everyone getting loose and stretching and inspirational words by Reverend Joe Jackson who spoke of losing his mother to breast cancer 20 years ago and former Chair Paula O’Neil PhD (Pasco comptroller and clerk of court) who just completed her final round of Chemotherapy days earlier in her own battle against breast cancer. The walkers wound their way all around the new Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel stopping for water stations and petting the mounted horses from the Pasco Sheriff's Office.
