The Cinderella Ball is a black-tie optional fundraising dinner and auction for the Foundation and was held Saturday at Heritage Springs Golf & Country Club. Proceeds from this event benefit the many programs of the Pasco Education Foundation such as scholarships, creative teaching grants and recognition events for students and district employees. The event also promotes the Cinderella Project and Prince Charming Project, supporting students who may not otherwise be able to afford attire for their senior prom.

Farm Share founder Patricia Robbins had plenty of help and support gathering food and distributing it to the needy of Pasco County thanks to Speaker Will Weatherford, his wife Courtney and daughters Ella Kate and Mollie, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, State Senator Wilton Simpson, Gloria Sadler from East and Central Pasco Habitat with Humanity, Terena Jones, Sandra Spurling and Gloria Sadler and from Weatherford, District 38 office, Robin Ringeisen, Ralph Lair and Joy Hampton.

Labor Day weekend has come and gone, the vast majority of us having emerged unharmed from its peculiar invitations to celebrate summer’s traditional wrap-up. And yet, in years to come, certain survivors among us will recall this particular seasonal bookend as a climax unlike any other. Joshua Griffin and James Poindexter, two young men separated by background and prominence but united by personal effervescence and the joy they gave others, were swallowed up by Gulf waters a day apart, leaving communities of loved ones shocked and grieving.

Leadership Pasco presented the 2012 Taste of Pasco to raise money for the new Mobile Medical Care Unit that will take health care to the streets with a medical unit on wheels to tend to homeless people and residents with little or no private insurance.

Eighteen couples (a record!) cinched the matrimonial knot Tuesday during Paula O'Neil's fourth-annual Valentine's Day mass wedding. The event was simultaneously sweet and intriguing, especially given the undercurrent of family unrest linked to the featured couple. Our fingers are intensely crossed on their behalf.
