GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently invited well-known local watercolorist, Bob McAnespie, member of both National Watercolor Society and Florida Watercolor Society, to instruct members at one of their weekly arts and crafts session. The class was a great success with Mr. McAnespie expertly guiding the ladies, many of whom had never worked with water colors before. Members proudly left the class with their own masterpieces to frame.

Pasco-Hernando State College held The Laker/Lutz News XL Launch Party on August 5th. The Laker/Lutz News has increased the size of their paper that reaches more than 64,000 residents in Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills and Dade City. The paper is now six inches longer to include several new changes, for example, containing two sections: The new B Section becomes a second front page to give more prominence to feature stories. The back page of the A Section becomes a high-profile sports page.

The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce hosted the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest Pasco County Tax Collector’s office off Wesley Chapel Boulevard. Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano, welcomed the large crowd of local dignitaries and spoke of all the services available to the citizens of both Pasco County as well as neighboring Hillsborough County then led a tour the state of the art facility.

The Eye Care Professionals of Tampa Bay, LLC, located on S.R. 54 about a mile west of where it meets S.R. 56 (at Oak Grove Blvd. in Lutz), is growing to better serve patients not only in its local area, but in New Tampa and Wesley Chapel as well. Beginning July 21, the office will be open an extra day each week and an additional optometric physician will be seeing the patients that day. Rick Robinson, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale in 1999. He will begin seeing patients on Mondays, when the office previously had been closed.
