Shortly before the Election Day, Governor Ron DeSantis held a big rally in Pasco County at Starkey Market in Trinity. The large crowd heard DeSantis speak about tourism which has become a very big part of Pasco County’s economic future as Florida’s Sports Coast attracting young families and sports programs that are impacting to Florida’s record tourism numbers.

DeSantis also reminded the crowd how he kept the State open in the face of pressure to shut everything down from schools and businesses. “Are you glad that in Florida we chose freedom over Faucism?” DeSantis said. In the Fall of 2020, the Governor chose to reopen schools and ban vaccine mandates and passports during the COVID-19 pandemic while other States chose lockdowns.

DeSantis also brought up other issues like ‘Biden-flation’ that hits young families the hardest, “It wasn’t until they got in there and cranked the printing presses... borrowed too much money," DeSantis said. “Are you ready to keep Florida free, then you need to come out and vote" DeSantis said to the cheers of the crowd. And so they did giving DeSantis a Landslide victory over Charlie Crist with over 66% of the vote.
