2018 US Olympic Women's Hockey Team Tops National Women's Hockey League 3-0 in Final Tune Up Before Olympics at Florida Hospital Center Ice. [Jan 13, 2018]
The U.S. got off to a strong start with several scoring chances, perhaps the best coming 7:55 into the game when Amanda Kessel (Madison, Wis.) came streaking down the right side, feeding a pass in front to Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) who put one on net, but she was stopped by the NWHL netminder. Despite putting 12 shots on goal during the first period, the U.S. could not find the back of the net and the period ended scoreless.
Just 1:14 into the second period, Monique Lamoureux-Morando (Grand Forks, N.D.) had a chance with a shot from the top of the crease, but was not able to convert. With 11:16 left in the second frame, Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) fired a shot from the left face-off circle, but was turned away by the NWHL netminder. Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, Minn.) gathered the rebound and put another shot on net, but was not able to score. After 40 minutes, the game remained scoreless. To read more, Click: USA HOCKEY
