Water Sports Professional Water Ski Show

Lake Padgett Estates Civic Association sponsored a Car Show and a Professional Water Ski Show with skiers from Cypress Gardens. World Famous Wakeboarder Zane Schwenk was on hand to thrill the crowd along with barefoot water skiers, trick skiers and acrobatic teams. Local band Bad Hare Day (996-3589) provided entertainment that included oldies, classic rock, blues & a little of everything which the crowd thoroughly enjoyed. James Kranendonk Local Mastercraft dealer  Bay Area Watersports in Land O Lakes provided the boats for the show which lasted over an hour.

Kranendonk Memorial Scholar Athlete

Awarded to Morgan Crescent

Jim Kranendonk, his wife Mary Jane and their sons John and Robert Kranendonk announced the winner of this year’s Thomas James Kranendonk Memorial Scholar Athlete Award, Miss Morgan Crescent ( also pictured, Max Ramos and Henry G. "Chip" Wichmanowski Executive Director of the Pasco Educational Foundation). Morgan played softball, volleyball and soccer at Land O’Lakes High school Emmett Harris earned a scholarship at Eckerd College. Her winning essay describes how team sports have helped her make friendships, to learn self-discipline that she also applied to her schoolwork. She knew Thomas from their time on the lake and knowing other friends that have passed much too soon have taught her not to take life for granted. “Life is a gift and you shouldn’t waste it on making poor choices”  said Crescent. Mike Connor, owner of Beef o Brady's Wilderness Lareakes donated a portion of his sales from the event back to the Pasco Educational Foundation for Thomas' Scholarship.

George Meyer Jr. and 13 members of his family piled on the Maddie Mae, a 33-foot Sea Ray Sundancer he had named after his granddaughter Maddie, who was taking her first Holy Communion the next day.

 Chuck Alleger and James Kranendonk owners of Bay Area Watersports in Land O’Lakes came home from the International Meeting of Master Craft Dealers held last month in Sanibel Island recognized the top service dealer won the Customer Service Award

as well as Dealer on the Move. 

Wake boarder Chris Perrone earns a spot at the World Championship to be held in Dallas / Ft. Worth, Texas this month.

     Local Tampa Bay Wakeboarder and Land O'Lakes High School Freshman, Christopher Perrone, competed in the World Wakeboarding Association (WWA) Nationals in Kenosha, Wisconsin August 23rd - 28^th and his excellent showing in the Junior Men's Wakeboard Division (29.44) earned him a berth in the WWA World Championship to be held in Ft. Worth, Texas later this month. Christopher is 15 years old and has been wakeboarding for only 2 years. Perrone recently acquired sponsorships by Bay Area Water Sports in Land O’Lakes, the local MasterCraft Boat Dealer and CWB (Connelly Wake Boards). Chris Harvey, 20, took 4^th place in the men’s division and John Rodriguez, 21, of Land O’Lakes, both qualified for the World Championships.

      Perrone lives and rides on Lake Saxon and has competed in tournaments around the state of Florida, usually placing in the top 3 in the "Advanced Division". He has recently been competing in the "Outlaw Division" of the GRASSROOTS tournaments against some of the best riders in the state. His goals are to one day compete in the X-GAMES along side of perusing a college scholarship in wakeboarding and if dreams do come true, with A LOT of EFFORT and SKILL, become a "Professional Wakeboarder". Christopher is a dedicated student with a 3.0 gpa, his interests include Drafting and Design, and would like to become a Firefighter/Paramedic as well. He attends Idlewild Baptist Church and is involved in the High School Youth Group "The Edge".

Temple Terrace River Fest presents Bay Area Watersports and Mastercraft Boats Owners Reunion. I thought I was at Cypress Garden. Unbelievable show by skilled, athletic individuals and even much more enjoyable than the last show I saw at Cypress Garden.
