Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at the Shops at Wiregrass by Arlene Hein
Over 10,000 men, women, children and their pets donned their pink colored outfits to raise funds to help the American Cancer Society through the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The walk started at the Shops at Wiregrass with a everyone getting loose and stretching. The walkers wound their way all around the new Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel stopping for water stations and petting the mounted horses from the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

Thanks to all that joined and participated in the 5th Annual Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education Task Force Candlelight Vigil. Master of Ceremonies was Paula O'Neil, Speakers were Richard Hayes, Chris Nocco, Shawn Crane Kelly Mothershead, Thomas Dobies and Brian Brown. Over the course of the evening, they showed support for families and friends, remembered the hundreds who have died from substance related incidents in Pasco County and recognized the thousands in our community who are suffering from the disease of addiction.

Tampa Premium Outlets Site Plan Gets ‘OK’ From Pasco by WC Neighborhood News

After years of legal battles, development officially is on the horizon for the long-awaited outlet mall off S.R. 56 in Wesley Chapel.Pasco County’s planning & development department officially approved the preliminary site development plan for the Tampa Premium Outlets on October 3. Pasco planner Owen W. Young confirms that Simon Property Group has received approval to being construction.
San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival by Arlene Hein
The 47th annual Rattlesnake and Music Festival was held Saturday in San Antonio City Park. The festival combined many of the old features with some new attractions, new food and new prices.
The annual Rattlesnake Run kicked off festivities, beginning with 5-mile and 1-mile courses at 8 a.m. The festival opening ceremony was at 9 a.m., followed by a full day of entertainment, snake and reptile shows, wildlife exhibits, arts and crafts, children’s games, replica gopher races and food. The festival ended at 10 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity of East Pasco and Central Pasco County’s Director of Family Services - Gloria Sadler. Miss Sadler, who was previously a dedicated habitat volunteer, currently supervises family selection, family services and home buyer classes for the local Habitat affiliate. Gloria actively supports her community and is a proud member of the Wesley Chapel Rotary Club. Gloria, originally from Jamaica grew up in the Bronx, New York and made her way to Florida 20 years ago. The love of Gloria’s life is a 12 pound Yorkie named Jade.
