Dinner with Ron Oakley, Candidate for Pasco County Commissioner District 1 in Dade City

Tuesday, Jun 05, 2012 | On Target Page: Greater Pasco County, Dade City, Republican Party Events, Ron Oakley for Pasco County Commissioner

As a Pasco County Native, Ron Oakley feels privileged to have had the opportunity to be a part of his community. Working in various family-owned businesses, from citrus, transportation to funeral homes, real estate, and ranching, he has had over 40 years of management experience. Raising five children, being involved in various activities, he has witnessed many changes that have taken place here.
In 2007, he was appointed to serve on the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) governing board. During his years of volunteer service to this organization, he served as Treasurer, Vice Chairman and Chairman. While working with SWFWMD, he became very aware of the need to streamline processes and make them more efficient.
Having been approached in 2007, and again this past year, by many citizens of Pasco County, Oakley feels the time is now for him to run for the District 1 County Commission seat. “A new perspective is needed to deal with the challenges we face ahead. Please allow me the opportunity to work for all of us as your County Commissioner. Together, we can make a difference” he said.
