Jim and Mary Jane Kranendonk along with their son’s John and Robert announced this year’s Thomas James Kranendonk Memorial Scholar Athlete Award winner, Jackson Cannon! The award was announced on March 25, Thomas's 21st Birthday, at Beefs O’Brady's Wilderness Lake. Jackson Cannon played linebacker for the Land O'Lakes Gators, and has been offered a preferred walk-on spot at University of South Florida. Cannon has started every game since he was a freshman, led Land O'Lakes with 89 tackles and had 3.5 sacks. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker also caught six passes as a tight end this fall. Cannon was named to the Sunshine Athletic Conference first team and the Times' all-North Suncoast second team. Cannon is a starter on the basketball team and is still setting records in the shot-put.
