GFWC Lutz - Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members presented a donation check of $1,800 to Ken Escobio, with the Operation Patriots group, to benefit special events and extra needs of the residents of Baldomero Lopez Veterans’ Nursing Home in Land O’Lakes. Operation Patriots is an advocacy group which oversees the needs of the veteran residents of the nursing home.

The clubwomen work very hard each year at the Tombola booth of their Arts & Crafts Show to raise these funds for our vets to provide them with special treats and entertainment. In addition, the green shirt ladies entertain the residents each month with fun Bingo games and prizes.

GFWC Lutz - Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club proudly announces some of the many members’ First Place entries into its Annual Arts Competition. The “Best in Show” winner was KarenSue Molis with her Lion King rendition fashioned from a palm ‘boot’. Paula Tapper, an avid Frida Kahlo aficionada, entered her colorful rendition. Another 1st place winner was Kay Taylor’s colorful apple and the huge holiday wreath was submitted as a collaborative effort of the club. These and many more club winners will move forward to GFWC District 8 competition and finally to the GFWC Florida finals.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members has chosen its Volunteer of the Year – Faith Sincich, a longtime member, spanning 3+ decades of her outstanding commitment of time and endless energy, serving her club and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). Ms. Sincich has been tireless in her service and well-deserves this honor. She will now move forward to District and then State GFWC competition to hopefully win the title of GFWC Florida Volunteer of the Year.
