The 28th Pasco Earth Day Event Presented by Covanta Pasco at Crews Lake Wilderness Park, in Spring Hill
The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society had a plant sale. There were upcycle vendors, a ladybug release, and educational displays.
Learn about many creatures with ambassadors from Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife, Dundee Farms, Fox Tales Florida, and Florida Skunk Rescue. Hits 106 did a live remote from 9 a.m. to noon.
There was a household hazardous waste collection onsite accepting items including lightbulbs, batteries, oil, gas, and paint. The electronics recycling will dispose of two TVs for free.
Document shredding by Shred 360 took place from 9 a.m. to noon with a limit of three boxes/bags per person. Bring in old thermostats or thermometers to properly dispose of mercury and receive a $5 gift card.
This annual event is a partnership between Keep Pasco Beautiful, Covanta Pasco, Tampa Bay Water, Pasco County Environmental Compliance, Pasco County Recycling, Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, UF/IFAS Pasco County Cooperative Extension and Pasco County Department of Public Works.
