“Having the opportunity to live throughout the Midwest and northeast before moving to Florida has given me a fascination and appreciation for divergent communities and cultures as well the beauty of nature itself. I have always had an interest in art but did not pursue it until I retired. I began taking classes in colored pencils watercolor pencils in graphite but soon moved to what I really want to do watercolor painting. I also work with mixed media. My style which varies from realism to impressionistic to the world of abstract depicts the diverse experiences in my travels in everyday life which I find tell interesting stories I love the meditative state of the intimacy I experiences. I work on a piece becoming fully absorbed and at one with the painting in the process. I am a member of Pasco Fine Arts Council, Tarpon Springs art association, Creative artist Guild in Clearwater Florida, Watercolor Society and Fine Art America.” Anita Mead
