Farm Share food distribution with Commissioner Mike Moore at the Grove Theatre in Wesley Chapel

Pasco County Commissioner Mike Moore partnered with Farm Share to host a very successful food distribution event in Wesley Chapel. Food was provided at a drive thru by over 30 volunteers who gave out 16,000 pounds of boxes of food from Farm Share included a gallon of milk, half gallon of orange juice, tomatoes, potatoes, and more to the local families. “I want to thank Farm Share and The Grove Theater, Bistro & Entertainment for being our partners in another successful food distribution for our community,” Pasco County Commissioner Mike Moore said. “30 volunteers showing up early on a weekday morning to distribute 16,000 pounds of food to those in need shows Pasco is a community that cares.”
Since March 1, 2020, Farm Share has distributed nearly 136 million pounds of food related to COVID-19 relief efforts in Florida — the equivalent of 114,143,877 meals. Of the pounds distributed, more than 38,653,000 pounds were healthy and nutritious fruits and vegetables. Farm Share is a non-profit organization that has been distributing food daily throughout Florida for 29 years. The organization partners with local farmers to prevent food waste and feed the hungry.
