Greater Pasco Chamber 17th Annual "Catch the Buzz" Spelling Bee in New Port Richey by J David Wright
PDF VersionThe 17th Annual "Catch the Buzz" Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Event Center, located at 8718 Trouble Creek Road New Port Richey, FL 34653.
The Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce hosted the spelling bee, an adult-only event to benefit Take Stock in Children and the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors created a team of four spellers who worked together to spell words from the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee list. All teams were encouraged to dress up and decorate their tables.
Prizes were awarded to the top three teams, top spirited team and the best team theme. Bribes were available to purchase during the first two rounds to keep the team spelling. Appetizers were served and a cash bar was available. Photos provided by J David Wright.
