Downtown Avalon Park hosted its inaugural Jack Frost 5K run on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Avalon Park West, 5227 Autumn Ridge Dr, Wesley Chapel.

The family fun run went through the Avalon Park West Community. It was open to the public and began with onsite registration at 7 a.m. The 5k race began at 8 a.m. and immediately followed by a shorter kid’s run at 9:30 a.m. It was Sponsored by New River Elementary School. T-shirts and finisher medals were given to the first 250 registrants and the top 3 athletes (Male and Female) from 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+ also received an award.

Stephanie Lerret, SVP of Marketing and Community Relations stated that it is the goal of Avalon Park West to bring families together in the community and create a healthy environment to Live, Learn, Work and Play. Community partners have come together to bring a great event. The East Pasco YMCA will be offering a warm up before the run. Lerret said, “This event is a healthy way for families to come together to kick off the new year right!”

Guests were encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and friends to enjoy an evening of holiday fun.
