Wesley Chapel Republican Club with Colonel Jack Harrington

The Wesley Chapel Republican Club held their monthly meeting on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, at Lexus of Wesley Chapel, located at 5350 Eagleston Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544. This month, the Guest Speaker was: Colonel Jack Harrington. The Topic was: Colonel Harrington will speak about FIRST. FIRST is an acronym for Florida's Forensic Institute for Research, Security and Tactics. The Republican Club and guests were able to ask him questions throughout his speech. It was an informative program, all were welcomed.

About Colonel Harrington:

After graduation from High School, Colonel Harrington attended Norwich University (the oldest private military university in the country) where he played four years of college football and was a member of the corps of cadets. Shortly after graduation, Harrington began his career in law enforcement with the state of Massachusetts and after a few years, he moved to Florida where he started working for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in 1990.Harrington went on to take a position as a Police Officer with the City of New Port Richey. Over a career that spanned approximately two decades, he worked his way through the ranks and was ultimately appointed as the New Port Richey Chief of Police. In October of 2011, Sheriff Chris Nocco appointed him to the position of Major with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and on July 29 2013, Sheriff Nocco appointed him as the Chief Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office with the rank of Colonel.

Col. Harrington believes that education is an important part of law enforcement. After he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Norwich, he continued his education at Norwich and earned a Master of Arts degree. He went on to further his education and ultimately earned a Ph.D. in Organization and Management. Col. Harrington spends most of his time away from the Sheriff’s Office with his family and he enjoys watching football.
