Pasco County Fire & Rescue Working a Wildfire in the Alston Tract East of Crystal Springs in Pasco County By Pasco County Fire and Rescue Battalion 4

Saturday, Mar 17, 2018 | On Target Page: New Tampa, Lutz, Zephyrhills, Wesley Chapel, Pasco County Fire & Rescue
Pasco County Fire and Rescue and FFS are currently working a wildfire in the Alston Tract of Upper Hillsborough Preserve east of Crystal Springs in Pasco County. The fire started in a very remote area earlier this afternoon. Units have been working the fire for over three hours and many remain on the scene at the posting. At least FIVE FFS tractors and their spotter aircraft are working the fire. PCFR dispatched 4 Brush trucks, 2 engines, 3 Tankers, B/C and a rescue. It is likely the fire has grown well beyond the 50 acres estimated by the FFS pilot shortly after his arrival. The column for the fire was actually spotted while units were working the MVC on Old Lakeland Highway and units went to investigate the already large column. It is likely FFS will have units at the scene through tomorrow. .The one Battalion 3 company was just released after 1900 hours and all others remain on the scene.
