World V-Red Prospects Live Draft, at Florida Hospital Center Ice

The World V-Red Prospect Camp had their live draft on Tuesday, July, 18, 2017 from 4:15 pm to 5:30 pm, located at American Consulting, 2818 Cypress Ridge Blvd, Ste 100, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544. It was open to the general public and members of the local media were invited to attend.

This elite hockey camp is being offered in the United States for the first time and is being hosted at Florida Hospital Center Ice, the state-of-the-art 5-sheet ice rink is Wesley Chapel.  Florida Hospital Center Ice has been in the news recently as the home of the US Women’s National Hockey Team during their training for the 2018 Olympics.

The World V-Red Prospect Camp has been the launching point of many NHL Players’ careers -Jake Allen, St. Louis Blues, and a Sean Couturier, Philadelphia Flyers, to name a couple.

The V-Red draft day is the most exciting day of camp.  The true NHL-style draft has 17 rounds and will be led by Gardiner MacDougall, Head Coach of the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds (National Champions ’07, ’09, ’11, ’13, ’16, and ’17).  The players were drafted to their respective country or NHL team and proceeded directly into championship tournament format until the closing of the camp.

A player from the Tampa Bay Lightning was on site during the draft to represent the Bolts and their support of this elite program.
