PCFR Fights 5-Hour Long Silo Fire in Zephyrhills by Pasco County Fire Rescue

Pasco County Fire Rescue said, “Two Firefighters transported. A type of fire not often seen in Pasco is keeping many companies committed this Sunday. Command declared the fire out 5 1/2 hours after the call was received. City and County units responded. Companies will be on the scene for a long time repacking hose and gathering equipment. First attack was made using tanker shuttle and then a water supply was established using LDH from a hydrant over 1000' away. Additional companies were called to the scene to relieve firefighters working in extreme weather At one point operations were suspended while a thunderstorm went over the scene. The feeding operation is located off of Old Lakeland Highway in the Zephyrhills area. Battalion Chief Ralph Grant (BC4) had Command and B/C Lee Hudson assisted.
