Healthy Cooking Chef Cary Neff at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Health & Wellness Center
Healthy Cooking chef and bestselling author, Cary Neff made a special appearance at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Health & Wellness Center for a cooking demonstration. Members and guests got to sample food and receive recipes to take home. Chef Neff, creator of the Flavors 450 menu and author of Conscious Cuisine, created a healthy cooking demo utilizing a variety of healthy recipes for participants to sample.
The Flavors 450 menu, which is utilized in the cafeteria at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, reflects a unique balance of taste and health with a focus on wellness. The Flavors 450 menu offers food that is appealing to the senses, delivers great flavor and, most importantly, provides balanced nutrition, under 450 calories. The menu incorporates fresh, locally-grown foods that are low in fat and calories, and there’s a strong emphasis on whole grains, lean proteins, low-fat dairy products and seasonal fruits and vegetables. “Food has healing properties, so I look for ways to include ingredients that help the body as well,†notes Chef Neff.
The healthy cooking demo is part of Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel’s commitment to help the community achieve long term wellness. The hospital and Health & Wellness Center offer a variety of community health education and wellness programs. Most are free although some have a modest fee.
