PDQ Restaurant at 27757 State Road 56, features fresh-made chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and salads
An emerging restaurant chain that makes chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches and salads the focus of its menu is establishing a presence in Pasco County and elsewhere in the Tampa area.
PDQ, which opened June 3 at 27757 State Road 56, brings not just fresh-made sandwiches to the area, but also 69 jobs, many of them going to young people who never before held a job, said Nick Reader, a principal owner of the restaurant.
At the first gathering of the work crew, Reader said, the new employees were told to give themselves a hand because they landed their positions over stiff competition.
About 1,200 people applied to work at the restaurant and 600 were interviewed before those making the final cut were selected.
Although the Wesley Chapel location opened nearly two weeks ago, PDQ celebrated Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce and featuring songs by the Gulf Coast Children's Choir. Click here to read more from the The Pasco Tribune
