Sunshine State Games Inaugural Lacrosse Tournament
Wesley Chapel and Pasco County set its foundations this past weekend as the hotbed for Florida lacrosse by hosting the Sunshine State Games Inaugural Lacrosse Tournament. Boys and girls from 25 teams and 5 different counties played in 50 plus games June 13th and 14th. Despite the overbearing heat, the torrential rain and two lightning delays, the Wesley Chapel Athletic Association’s Tampa Tribe U19 Boys lacrosse team captured the gold in overtime against a highly competitive Braveheart Lacrosse Club from Orlando. Other Tampa Tribe medalist teams included Girls High School – Silver, Girls Middle School – Bronze, U13 Boys – Bronze, U15 Boys – Bronze and U17 Boys – Silver. Results from the 2009 Sunshine State Games Lacrosse Tournament can be found at www.TampaTribe.org
