Land O’ Lakes Resident Becomes

American Citizen on 4th of July

Longtime Land O’ Lakes resident Maria Padgett became an American citizen on July 4.  Padgett was born in San Juan, Philippines just outside of Manila and has thought about becoming a citizen since 9/11.  After leaving the Philippines, her family moved to New Jersey, and after graduating from USF in 1976, she stayed in the Tampa Bay area.  She has worked for Tampa Internist Dr. Jayant Gajera for the past twenty years.  714 applicants from over 90 countries became Naturalized Citizens at the Tampa Convention Center.  They were presented with an American Flag, a book of American History, and a Certificate of Citizenship.  Her friends at the Lake Padgett Estates East Clubhouse gave her a sash and a celebration party after the ceremony. She is pictured with her husband Jim Padgett.

Our LPEEPOA/ Taylor's Tribe First Annual Golf Tournament was a success; we raised over $5,000.00 for The American Cancer Society!!
We would not have been able to raise this money without the help of some very special people that I want to thank personally, Joe Patrick and Mackie Shirmo. Golf Tournament to benefit local Lake Padgett Estates East resident

Danny Ficetola 6930 (from left) and Mitch Mitchell cooked filet mignon for the golfers on the grill borrowed from the Land O’ Lakes Moose Lodge for the Golf Tournament to benefit Lake Padgett Estates East resident Trinity Kupies who is battling the brain disorder Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses (NCLS). Also pictured is volunteer Charlie Viteritti.   7152   Joe Patrick  of Ryland Homes (on left), and Mac Shirmohammad-of ARC Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Co. (on right), were the two who organized the Golf Tournament to benefit local resident Trinity Kupies on June 24 at Plantation Palms Golf Club.  They presented a check for $7,000 to Karl Kupies (front center)-grandfather of Trinity. About 100 golfers participated and capped off the day with a steak dinner and silent auction at the Lake Padgett Estates East Clubhouse. Five-year-old Trinity is battling the brain disorder Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses (NCLS). Lots of volunteers were responsible for the successful fundraiser that grossed $11,000. Wednesday-Bingo 7:30pm   Come join us - it's inexpensive and fun.  $5.50 (includes 6 cards for $3.50 and 4 special sheets for $2.00).  Extra cards: $ .25 each.  Extra special sheets: $ .50 each.  16 games are played and we're finished between 9:30-10:00pm.  Bring a friend and meet new friends.  Free coffee.

Clubhouse Hours: 9am-10pm

Lounge Hours:   *Specials below*      Mon. - Thurs. - 4pm - 11pm     Fri. 4pm - 2am  Sat. 12pm - 2am Sun. 1pm - 10pm

ID and Guest Passes: You must have a valid ID with you to use the facilities.  All members must pay $3 per day for each guest on Saturday and Sunday.  No guest may be on the grounds without having the required guest card and without being with their member sponsor.

To turn on the tennis court or racquetball lights just go to the lounge and show your ID-n/c.
