Hudson, Florida (March 1, 2017) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is pleased to announce the promotion of Dina D. Credo, RN, BSN, CCRN, to director of the hospital’s Critical Care Unit (CCU). Ms. Credo has been serving as interim director of the CCU since September 2016. Prior to serving as interim director she held the position of Nurse Manager in CSU/CSSU (Critical Surgical Unit/ Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit). Ms. Credo has been serving in nurse management in the critical care units of RMCBP since her employment at the hospital in April 2009.
Ms. Credo received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liceo de Cagayan University in the Philippines. She holds certification as a Critical Care RN (CCRN) since October 2009. She is trained in basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, certified CRRT/IABP (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy/Intra Aortic Balloon Pump) training, and open heart cardiovascular training. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Nurses and a member of Philippine Nurses Association.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Announces Its Volunteer Five Star Winners for the Fourth Quarter of 2016

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced the recipients of its fourth quarter volunteer Star Awards. The awards were presented at a ceremony held on Thursday, January 19, at RMCBP. Five Star honored volunteers included Wilma Comeau, Linda Donadoni, and Virginia (Ginnie) Fournier.
Wilma Comeau started volunteering in 2010 and in her six years has accumulated nearly 1,900 hours of service working in the CPRU (cardiac post-recovery unit) waiting room. She has a reputation for a pleasant demeanor and a friendly smile, which is contagious to those who meet her. “She works well with others and is always ready to serve our patients, families, and staff, making them all feel comfortable,” said Manager of Volunteer Services, Donna Owen. “Wilma will escort people to wherever they need to go – offering coffee, tea and always willing to help in any way possible,” she added.
Linda Donadoni began volunteering at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in 2011 where she welcomes the public at door A and door D. She has accumulated over 5,150 hours of service. She also serves as a team leader on Sunday afternoons. “Linda treats all with kindness and she works well with everyone,” said Donna Owen, Manager of Volunteer Services. “You can depend on Linda; not only does she work her shift but also goes beyond working for others as well. She provides excellent service to patients, guests, and coworkers and is deserving of the Five Star Award,” she added.
Virginia “Ginnie” Fournier has been a volunteer at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point since 2013 and has already accumulated 8,000 hours working as a courier dispatcher as well as in the gift shop. “She trains, schedules, and provides assistance in the gift shop whenever needed, as well as working her other regular shifts,” said Donna Owen, Manager of Volunteer Services. “She is dependable and is always willing to take on extra shifts if necessary. Ginnie is a valuable volunteer to our organization.”

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Volunteers Donate $2,000 to Holiday Basket Program

Hudson, Florida (January 2, 2017) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point volunteers recently donated $2,000 to RMCBP’s holiday basket program for children and families in our community. The basket program provides children and families with toys and holiday meals thus providing a happier holiday season for challenged children and families in our community.
Each year Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s staff, physicians and volunteers collaborate to provide families and children with holiday gift baskets, food, and many extras. The referrals come from schools and social agencies and the hospital also helps some of its own who are having difficulty.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Announces the Promotion of Elisabeth M. Ferguson, RN, BSN, as Director of Surgical/Trauma ICU/Trauma Stepdown Unit

Hudson, Florida (December 13, 2016) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point announces the appointment of Elisabeth M. Ferguson, RN, BSN, as Director of its Surgical/Trauma ICU/Trauma Stepdown Unit. This unit compliments Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s Level II Trauma Center.
Ms. Ferguson was promoted from her position as Nurse Manager, Medical Oncology/Progressive Care Unit. She has served in various capacities at HCA since 2013 while also maintaining her reserve status. She is a US Army veteran serving eight years as a combat medic with a Forward Surgical Team. During that time she was an NCO-IC (Non-Commissioned Office In Charge) of Advanced Trauma Life Support as well as a certified educator for the US Army.
Ms. Ferguson was trained in combat injuries, combat operations, and desert survival. She supported units that served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. She worked in all capacities in the Forward Surgical Team including the operating room, surgical intensive care unit and even flight operations.
Ms. Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Harrison College in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) through the University of Maryville, Missouri, with anticipated graduation in September 2017. She is board certified in basic cardiac life support and advanced cardiac life support. While in the military she was awarded two Army commendation medals for exceptional service in support of Global War on Terror, in the efforts to efficiently mobilize, deploy and prepare soldiers for forward combat operations.
Ms. Ferguson is married to another veteran, who recently retired with 18 years of service and is now a Pasco County sheriff’s officer. She is a member of the Florida Nursing Association and is a member of the board of a local animal rescue, Mystical Animal Rescue.

Hudson, Florida (October 24, 2016) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Volunteer Association recently donated $150 to the Pasco County Parks & Recreation Department to assist it in holding its annual Halloween Spooktacular Fall Festival Event. The event involves over 1,000 children dressing up, playing carnival games and lots of candy.
“Our Volunteer Association donated the $150 to give back to the community and provide exciting events for this area’s youth,” said Donna Owen, Manager of Volunteer Services.
