The 2nd Annual John Anderson Benefit Concert, held at the Dan Cannon Auditorium at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, benefited several local groups which include Sunrise of Pasco County, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Heart Institute, Thomas Promise Foundation, Bayfront Health Dade City Foundation and the Dade City Kiwanis Foundation. John was recently named to the Nashville songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.

Land Oâ€™ Lakes High School welcomed Shelton Quarles, Former Bucs Player and Super Bowl Champion and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers Director of Football Operations, to be the keynote speaker for the 2^nd Annual Land O' Lakes Gator Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. Last yearâ€™s Induction dinner garnered over $40,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales and auction proceeds. Five honorees were inducted this year: legendary Coach John Benedetto (posthumously), House Speaker Will Weatherford (1998), RJ McKenna (1982), Tina McWithey White (1979) and Dennis Blankenship (1980).

The Festival of Flight Wesley Chapel 2014 was held the weekend of September 19^th at the Tampa North Flight Center located at 4241 Birdsong Blvd., in Lutz. There was a sunrise launch at 7 a.m., each day, and a balloon night glow from 7:30 p.m. to dusk. The event include live music, food, airplanes, kites, delta trikes, and balloon rides for purchase. Admission was free.

Oasis Pregnancy Care Centers held it's 6th Annual Legacy of Life Celebration on September 25th at Exciting Idlewild. This is by far the biggest event in Central Pasco with well over 400 people in attendance. The evening was kicked off with an Invocation by Pastor Gilbert Rodriguez followed by a welcome and overview from Speaker of the Florida House, Will Weatherford, the Honorary Chair. The wonderful buffet dinner was then provided by Hungry Harry's Family BBQ.

Ben Pumo, owner of Benedetto's Ristorante Italiano, located on State Route 54 just east of State Route 41 at 21529 Village Lakes Shopping Center Dr., Land Oâ€™Lakes was again the host and the â€œgo toâ€ place for State and National leaders when it was chosen by Florida Governor Rick Scott to hold a rally Saturday. Many County officials and about 200 hundred supporters listened to the Governor speak out against the former Governor, Charlie Crist who chose not to run for re-election four years ago when Floridaâ€™s economy was in a serious down turn.
