The Pasco Sheriff’s Office Light Up the Night at the The Shops at Wiregrass Educated the Public of the Warning Signs of Trafficked Victims

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office Light Up the Night (LUTN) 5k run and 1-mile walk was held on January 20th, 2018, at 4:30PM they brought awareness to the prevalence of human trafficking, as well as, educated the public of the warning signs of trafficked victims. All the money raised went to benefit the following agencies: Bridging Freedom, Healing Root Ministry, Justice Restoration Center – West Florida Center for Trafficking Advocacy, Loving You Where You Are At, Redefining Refuge, and the U.S. Institute Against Human Trafficking.

This year, you were able to create your own fundraising page to help fight Human Trafficking! You also had the ability to create a team by gathering your friends, run for a great cause and help reach the fundraising goal of $50,000!!

The event began at 4:30PM with a 5K & 1-mile run/walk race at the Pasco-Hernando State College, immediately followed by the main event, taking place at The Shops at Wiregrass, on the upper level of the parking garage at 6:00PM. The first (300) runners received a medal, water bottle and t-shirt. ALL medals were given at the FREE concert awareness event at the Shops at Wiregrass along with bagels provided by Panera bread.

The event was very family friendly and included live music, a Kids Zone with bounce houses and face painting, horse mounted Police Officers, food vendors, a helicopter landing, and a candlelight ceremony to conclude the event.
