Heritage Pines Community Raises Funds to Help Local Victims Impacted by Hurricane Irma thru United Way of Pasco County

Saturday, Oct 21, 2017 | On Target Page: Greater Pasco County, Land O'Lakes, Lutz, The United Way of Pasco County
Heritage Pines Community raises funds to help local victims impacted by Hurricane Irma. As a result of this Hurricane, more than 200 homes have been severely impacted and some destroyed including low and moderate income residents and elderly families. Due to power outages resulting from Hurricane Irma, families have lost wages and food. Repair and recovery expenses are pushing many of these residents beyond their financial capacity.

Heritage Pines community has once again answered the call to help local residents. Two years ago this community contacted United Way of Pasco County to raise funds to aid flood victims through United Way’s flood recovery and relief fund. They are now raising funds for Hurricane victims. “We want to help our local residents where we can”, said Mr. Ralph Pauley, Heritage Pines community organizer.

Heritage Pines contacted United Way of Pasco County of their desire to raise funds to help local residents of disaster during the ABC Action News Telethon two weeks ago. They began their efforts with a collection at their community gate, sharing their mission with all incoming guests, and wrapped up with a “Karaoke” fundraising event on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Heritage Pines Country Club. With more donations yet to be counted, residents of Heritage Pines have raised over $6,000 to help support the efforts of United Way Pasco.
