The Wesley Chapel Republican Club held their monthly meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, located at Florida Hospital Center Ice, 3173 Cypress Ridge Blvd, Wesley Chapel, Florida 33544. This month, the Guest Speaker was: Brandon Patty. The Republican Club and guests were able to ask him questions throughout his speech.

About Brandon Patty:

Brandon Patty is a native, second-generation Floridian who worked his way through high school and community college at Publix and was the first member of his family to graduate from college. These experiences left Brandon with a profound sense of gratitude for the ability we possess as Americans to pursue our dreams, live freely, and go as far as our talents and work ethic allow. It has also inspired him to public service.

Brandon has extensive experience in uniform, in government, and the political process with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of economic and national security issues, politics, and program management.

Brandon has strong relationships across Northeast Florida. After graduating from George Washington University in 2005, Brandon joined Governor Jeb Bush’s office and served as special events coordinator before his appointment as a special assistant. As the Governor’s aide to North Florida, he worked closely with stakeholders on important issues and events across the region. After the Governor’s term ended, Brandon moved to northeast Florida where he joined the Mitt Romney for President Campaign as a regional field director and organized voter contact operations in 13 counties.

He then successfully managed Angela Corey’s campaign for State Attorney before consulting on W.C. Gentry for Duval County School Board and Lake Ray for the Florida House of Representatives. After a session as a legislative assistant in the Florida House of Representatives, he joined Marco Rubio’s campaign for U.S. Senate in August 2009. Ultimately serving as policy director, Brandon was instrumental in advising the candidate on issues and developing his policy agenda until September 2010 when he matriculated to the London School of Economics for graduate studies in international affairs.

As his career progressed, Brandon sought opportunities to serve his country and broaden his experience and knowledge of national security issues. He joined the U.S. Navy as a reserve officer in 2008, and in 2011 accepted active duty orders at the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office in Washington, DC where he advised the office’s director on Middle East issues and managed a variety of projects through 2012. His active duty service continued in 2013 when he volunteered for a mobilization to the Middle East. While deployed, he supported operations throughout the region and closely tracked our adversaries’ efforts to spread violence and destabilize our allies.

When he returned home from Operation Enduring Freedom in June 2014, Brandon joined Ed Gillespie’s campaign for the U.S. Senate as a policy advisor focusing on defense and foreign policy issues before accepting a position as a senior consultant at Deloitte in November 2014.

Brandon is a member of the American Legion and the St John’s United Way Campaign Cabinet. He attends Trinity Episcopal Church in St Augustine, where he resides.
