The six radio stations Collected Food for Metropolitan Ministries.

About Metropolitan Ministries:

65,000 people in our county live below poverty level — just one emergency away from homelessness.

And it’s not just a job loss that could push them over the edge. Money is so tight that one day off work to take care of a sick child might mean a single mom can’t pay next month’s utility bill.

We reach out to these families with help, hope and guidance to get back on their feet and prevent family homelessness.

Community partnerships and the work of hundreds of volunteers all over the county make it possible to serve hot meals every Tuesday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning on site, and our new kitchen facility cooks 2,000 meals each month to serve at other locations in Pasco County.

On Sundays, guests are invited to worship with Joining Hands Mission Churchfollowing the meal. More than half of our guests choose to stay, some of them experiencing Christian community for the first time.

Our youth enrichment and development programs address the needs of children directly impacted by trauma. Homelessness, divorce, tragedy and violence leave kids vulnerable. We offer them a place to hang out and make positive relationships and build skills through recreation, after school tutoring, arts diversion and intervention and summer camp activities.
