Senator Wilton Simpson, Hosts Special Fundraising Barbecue Dinner & Bellamy Brothers Concert

Senator Wilton Simpson, a Trilby Republican, hosted a special fundraising barbecue dinner and concert on April 21, 2016, at the M & B Dairy at 8760 S. Lecanto Highway in Lecanto, Florida. The concert featured the Bellamy Brothers, the pop-country duo best known for their crossover 1976 hit “Let Your Love Flow,” who hail from Pasco County and are known for their hits worldwide. Some of those hits include Let Your Love Flow, Redneck Girl, If I said you had a Beautiful Body, Sugar Daddy, Lovers Live Longer, Too Much is not enough, Do You Love as Good as You Look, and Crazy from the Heart.

Simpson is a highly regarded entrepreneur, egg farmer, humanitarian and lawmaker – recently named by FloridaPolitics.com as one of Tampa Bay’s 25 most powerful politicians. In 2013, the Florida Farm Bureau named Simpson, a self-described “big-tent Republican,” as both Legislator of the Year and Philanthropist of the Year.

With a career that combines popular music and nearly 20 No. 1 singles and more than 50 country hits, the Bellamy Brothers seems to be a perfect fit for Simpson – a well-liked legislator respected on both sides of the political aisle. Senator Simpson is in line to be the Florida Senate President in 2021 and 2022 if he wins reelection.
