The Hillsborough County Republican Party would like to thank the Tampa Bay Young Republicans, College Republicans, Teenage Republicans and the Youth in Government for all your help during our 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner. And many more. Another successful Lincoln Day Dinner for the Hillsborough County Republican Party was held on June 21, 2015. Governor Jeb Bush was the keynote speaker for the 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner, "An Evening with Abraham Lincoln." Bush served as Florida's 43rd Governor from 1999 to 2007. He was the first Republican in state history to be reelected.

"The dinner emphasized the core principles of freedom that Lincoln embodied," said Hillsborough Republican Party Chair Deb Tamargo. "That is the story Republicans must be telling, and Governor Bush was the perfect person to deliver that message."

As Governor, Bush was known as a conservative reformer, cutting billions in taxes and greatly reducing the state government workforce while improving Florida's economy. After leaving office, he returned to the private sector. Jeb Bush remains a passionate advocate for education reforms that result in better outcomes for students. Among the policies he champions are providing parents and students with education choice, specialized education, and education beneficial to the success of student graduates who move into the workforce.

In addition to Governor Bush, the dinner featured former Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford as Master of Ceremonies. Former Governor Bob Martinez presented the first annual Governor Bob Martinez Good Government Award. Honored guests included Congressmen Gus Bilirakis, Dennis Ross, and Tom Rooney.

This year's tribute to Lincoln was celebrated at the TPepin Hospitality Centre on Friday, June 19th. For additional information contact info@hcrp.org

“Not only did we have a sellout crowd of patriots in the room, they dug deep to make this one of the most successful off year fund raising events ever. Although, I must admit, I still recall my first Lincoln dinner, an election year event, with Congressman Dick Armey was pretty awesome too. If you were there last night and I missed thanking you, Thank You. If you're weren't there, I'm taking reservation for our GoRed2016 Red Ball to be held in March. I'm truly sorry that so many were left out due to our size constraint. Reserve now and we'll find a bigger room,” said Hillsborough Republican Party Chair Deborah Tamargo.

The family of Tarpon Springs Officer Kondek, killed in the line of duty last year, joined the Congressman Rep. Gus Bilirakis at the Hillsborough County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner.

"The event benefiting the Hillsborough County Republican Party drew an A-list of local Republicans, including Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and several members of Congress and the state House and Senate."
