John Monks, General Manager of the Wesley Chapel McDonald’s Restaurant, is awarded the 2014 Ray Kroc Award Winner

The owners of Wesley Chapel and new Tampa McDonald’s Restaurants, John and Chris Frost were proud to announce, John Monks General Manager of the Wesley Chapel McDonald’s Restaurant, was awarded the 2014 Ray Kroc Award Winner. Only four General Managers in the entire state of Florida have received this award.

The Ray Kroc Award is a nationwide honor created in 1999 to reward and recognize our best U.S. Restaurant Managers – the top 1% from Owner/Operator and McOpCo restaurants. This prestigious award recognizes superior performance and achievement, spotlighting winners as role models for our crew and system.

Ray Kroc Award winners receive a $2,500 cash award, a trophy, ring, watch, lapel pin and a congratulatory letter from Karen Garcia and Harry Thomas, Jr. In addition, winners are invited to a three-day awards event and banquet in their honor in Chicago.

John started his McDonald’s career 14 years ago and is currently the General Manager of the Wesley Chapel restaurant in Pasco County. John has a passion for the brand and driving exceptional results. In 2014, his Wesley Chapel restaurant was rebuilt and is currently running double digit sales and guest count increases. Those results are in addition to year after year positive sales and guest count performance prior to the rebuild. John continues to grow capacity with a laser‐focus on Building Peak Hour Performance. His trailing 12 month CSO is an impressive 21.4% and his 2014 VOICE Overall Satisfaction is 57.5%.

John’s commitment to building peak hour performance is evident from his commitment to staffing on average of 21 crew during the peaks, 24 hour/364 Side by side DT operations, split function and dual sided prep, all with a year to date fast score of 67.4%. His Crew and Management commitment index of 95.1% and 97.9% respectively is critical in driving his restaurant performance.

John believes in RDM and holds his Department Managers accountable for high performance. During the restaurant’s rebuild, John closed the restaurant with 81 employees and retained72 of the original crew to re-open with 110 crew. John currently leads a team of 90 crew 15% certified managers, and15% Crew Trainers. John was a recipient of the Outstanding General Manager award in 2012 and 2013. As always, they do an exceptional job executing QSC to represent the Frost Organization, our Co-op and the region. In 2014, John and his team led the Co-op by selling 3,546 Hands during the May RMHC event, and 7,498 Hearts during the November event. To top it off, John and his team host our Co-op Gold Standard Seed Store sessions, as well as several regional and divisional visits.
