Local businesses and families rally to help the De La Sala family in need, at Beef O Brady’s Village Lakes

Friday, Jun 19, 2015 | On Target Page: Land O'Lakes, Lutz, Land O'Lakes Community Events

The community came together for family fun, Bouncy house and games for children, live DJ and raffle prizes! Through tragedy and pain local businesses and family’s rallied to help a family rise above the flames and find their way back home! Joe and Jenn Delasala lost their home to a horrible fire and had a corrupt contractor rob them of their livelihood! The Delasalas daughter Alyssa decided to make a lemonade stand to help with the funds to raise money so her and her family could go home! Family and friends were so moved with her gesture they decided to pitch in and give her a hand. Partnering up with local businesses, the family and community showed that we can and will come together in any time of need!

Alyssa’s Lemonade stand was set up on Sunday June 14, 2015, at Beef O Brady’s
Village Lakes from 12-3pm. Great food and snacks were available for purchase to help with the fundraiser. Special thanks to Shane Tole and Mike and Matt Connor of Beef O Brady’s for hosting the event. They also donated a percentage to the family from all sales that day. Alyssa’s Lemonade stand also has a gofundme if you wish to donate. Shane Tole of Beef O Brady's Village Lakes, Mike Jones Sr of Ol’ Time Gunshop, Fernando Mejia of Talk Time Store Lutz, Lowes, Aarons, Boutique by Lily, Buddy’s, Benedetto’s, Belk, The Street Assassins Car Club, and The Tampa Bay Rays all came together to help and offer raffle items help raise money!

This is the 1st Facebook page created by De La Sala Family when the fire occurred in March 2013. It has details and pictures of the fire.

Alyssa's original lemonade stand in May 2015. She kept coming up with ideas and making suggestions about how to help get them home. One idea she had included a list of every friend and family member she could think of and assigned them jobs that she thought they could do. Then she thought of having the lemonade stand. When Natalie, a family friend heard Alyssa's idea she said let's do it. I, of course, was all in! We had no idea it would be so successful. The fundraiser events have raised almost $20k! This is amazing. They still have quite a way to go, I believe the last # I heard was about $100k. But the love and support has really lifted their spirits.
