Pasco County Board of Commissioners Recognizes Retiring Public Servants and Citizens’ Academy Graduates

A Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County, Florida, commended Mike Carroll for 27 years of dedicated service, Thelma I. Williams for 25 years of dedicated service to Pasco County. Also they commended Kenneth Stay for 29 and one-half years of dedicated public service to the residents of Pasco County, and congratulated him on his retirement from the Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department.

The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners awarded the Certificates for the completion of the Pasco County Citizens’ Academy to the Graduates. Pasco County Citizens’ Academy is an interactive program that focuses on educating citizens about the County’s governmental operations. Elected officials, department directors and other county staff will host unique and informative sessions designed to give citizens hands-on experience in county government operations. Join other citizens who help keep our community strong by actively participating in County affairs.

The Citizens’ Academy is a series of professionally-led workshop sessions designed to familiarize citizens with Pasco County government and the services it provides. It is an educational experience that will give participants insight into the county’s governmental process through a three-step process aimed at:

  • Improving citizens’ understanding of local government.
  • Developing citizens’ understanding of their role in government.
  • Developing a pool of knowledgeable individuals to act as ambassadors, serve on advisory boards, and volunteer.
