WC Republican Club Monthly Meeting with Guest Speaker Byron Donalds
The Wesley Chapel Republican Club has a far better understanding of what Medicaid Expansion means for Florida citizens thanks to Florida House Candidate for District 80 Byron Donalds. Byron Donalds was the speaker for the April club meeting. Donald’s emphasized the importance of a dynamic market place for health insurance where everyone buys insurance with their own money. Byron Donalds feels that this will be the key to lowering the cost of healthcare. Medicaid Expansion will leave the State of Florida, according to Donalds with future payments they cannot afford. When people spend their own money, they always look for the best product at the lowest possible price. “When you spend other people's money (which is how 95% of the healthcare market operates), there is less care and concern for how money is spent and what it is spent on,†which provided Donalds a seamless segue to the subject of Common Core and Florida’s education standards. Donalds who is a founding Board member of Mason Classical Academy, a public charter school in Collier County has witnessed first-hand how school choice can play a vital role in educating Florida’s children. Byron Donald’s proved to the Wesley Chapel Republican Club that he can competently articulate the facts and figures about the issues that will affect every Floridian and the State of Florida’s future.
