They meet there every Wednesday at noon, the Guest Speaker this week was with Metropolitan Ministries. She spoke about the impact Metro is making on the Tampa Bay Area. Here is some info about them: “From Hope is our goal, but it can’t be measured. That’s why we look at results. The results show that our donor-funded programs transform families forever. Just take a look:

  • 1,632,803 meals served
  • 97% of families remained self-sufficient
  • 75% maintained or increased their income through employment

65,000 people in Pasco County live below poverty level — just one emergency away from homelessness. And it’s not just a job loss that could push them over the edge. Money is so tight that one day off work to take care of a sick child might mean a single mom can’t pay next month’s utility bill. 3,305 persons were homeless in Pasco County on any given day in 2013. Over 700 families reached out to us looking for housing solutions in 2014.

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $2 Million for making miracles in Pasco, 24 transitional housing units in two phases for homeless families and children. Two corporate leaders have each pledged to match your gifts up to $250K. That means your gift will triple. Every dollar you give will have the impact of $3.00.

1,345 children were considered double up living in another's household.

56.1% students enrolled in Pasco County are on free & reduced lunch.

2,400 students enrolled in Pasco County were homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.

Community Impact

  • 24 new family units
  • Intensive case management will provide families with a plan, leading them to housing stability and self-sufficiency
  • Employment services and job training
  • Housing services will match families with housing and housing support to ensure long-term stability
  • Children’s educational services include childcare, school placement and support, afterschool and summer programs
  • Financial wellness will teach budgeting and savings literacy”
