Pasco Economic Development Council Celebrates 28 Years of Innovation and Growth in Pasco County

Dewey Mitchell gave the Chairman’s Report and many dignitaries were on hand to honor business in Pasco County.
The Pasco Economic Development Council “recognized Pasco County companies that have demonstrated exemplary growth and/or made significant contributions to economic development and quality of life on Pasco County during 2013/2014,†according to the PEDC in its award program. The annual event, held at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, began with a two hour Business Expo highlighting many businesses in Pasco County then followed up with the Industry of the Year Awards. Eight outstanding businesses were chosen from 31 nominees and the winners were:
- Special Contribution Award: Pasco-Hernando State College, New Port Richey
- Service/Distribution Industry of the Year – Category 1: Gator Cleaning Solutions of Odessa
- Service/Distribution Industry of the Year – Category 2: A & K Energy Conservation Inc. of Dade City
- Manufacturing Industry of the Year – Category 1: Rochester Electro-Medical Inc. of Lutz
- Manufacturing Industry of the Year – Category 2: Seaway Plastics Engineering Inc. of Port Richey
- Special Recognition Award: Withlacoochee River Electric Coop., Shady Hills
- Technology Award: DataMentors LLC in Wesley Chapel
- New Business Award: MedActive Oral Pharmaceuticals LLC
