Reagan Day Dinner with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Lieutenant Governor of Florida Carlos Lopez-Cantera

Pasco Republican Party's Reagan Day Dinner were very fortunate to have many rising politic stars in Florida in attendance like United States Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Florida State Senator Wilton Simpson who introduced the nights featured speaker Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi. Chairman Jim Mathieu, Republican Party of Pasco introduced Pastor Jonathan Vorce of Lakewood Church of God for the Invocation and the Color Guard from River Ridge High School AFJROTC to lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. State Committeeman Bill Bunting introduced all of the elected Officials and then another special guest, the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Florida Carlos Lopez-Cantera. Many silent Auction Winners were announced and a Live Auction for high quality Taurus firearms as part of their annual fundraising efforts.

From the program: A native of Tampa, Pam Bondi became Florida's 37th Attorney General after being elected on November 2, 2010.

Attorney General Bondi is focused on protecting Floridians and upholding Florida's laws and the Constitution. Some of her top priorities are defending Florida's constitutional rights against the federal health care law, strengthening penalties to stop pill mills, aggressively investigating mortgage fraud and Medicaid fraud, and ensuring Florida is compensated for Deepwater Horizon oil spill losses. Transparency and openness in government have been important throughout her career. Attorney General Bondi is a graduate of University of Florida and Stetson Law School and has served as a prosecutor for more than 18 years. As an assistant state attorney, her investigative and courtroom experience includes the successful prosecution of numerous first-degree murder cases and two capital cases. We thank our Attorney General for bringing Obamacare all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

Carlos Lopez-Cantera is the 19th Lieutenant Governor of Florida. He graduated from the University of Miami where with a degree in Business Administration. Carlos served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2004 through 2012 where he chaired the Committee on Business Regulation and the Government Affairs Committee. He also served on the Governor's Property Tax Refonn Committee, the My Safe Florida Home

Advisory Council, and the Miami-Bade County Mayor's Mortgage Fraud Task Force. Carlos was Majority Whip from 2009 through 2010 and Majority Leader of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 through 2012. Carlos Lopez-Cantera was appointed as Lieutenant Governor on January 14, 2014. He is the first Hispanic to hold this position in Florida.
