Habitat for Humanity is looking for a few good women and by the looks of the crowd women gathered at Wesley Chapel Toyota on 5300 Eagleston Boulevard, participation in the 2014 Women Build will be a great success . It might have been where your Mom was last night, or your sister, your friends, your co-workers, getting more information about joining Habitat for a Women Build Informational Meeting and Mixer. Women Build challenges women to devote at least one day to the effort to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness. "Women can make a difference in their communities by building homes and raising awareness of local housing needs. Women Build doesn't exclude men, it includes and empowers women!" explains Stephanie Black, director of development and public relations.

This is the sixth Women Build project taken on by Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County. The program, underwritten by Lowe's, gives women the opportunity to learn construction skills and to move families out of poverty housing. According to Census Bureau statistics, more than 12 million U.S. children - one out of every six - are living in poverty

A crew of women volunteers will raise the walls of a Habitat for Humanity house starting February 7th & 8th. The women are building the home as part of Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program. This house will add to the more than 2000 Habitat for Humanity houses built by women throughout the United States and in dozens of countries around the world.

Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to build simple, decent, affordable houses. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit, no down payment and with a zero-interest mortgage. Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County was founded in 1994 and is celebrating 20 years helping families in East & Central Pasco County! Habitat has built or rehabilitated 120+ houses in East & Central Pasco County communities.
