Honorary Mayor of Land
O’ Lakes, Faith Jordan-Masella recently presented her Campaign Donation

wonderful program but no one ran against me, and then there were all
those –dare I say the “H” word-hurricanes which really hurt my
donations. I am proud to be able to promote the ABC Program (Assist,
Believe, and Care) that is available to students in Pasco County. To

Spinning A Web of Community
Woman puts local sports on Internet
LAND O' LAKES ... She is as much a sideline regular at Gator
Stadium as the chain-gang working Land O' Lakes High football games on Friday
nights.Faith Jordan-Masella is
there, camera in hand, snapping pictures. She does not focus solely on the
Land O' Lakes High players in action, however. Coaches are part of the
story, too, as are cheerleaders, parents and fans.
""I have people come up to me all the time, especially the kids,''
Jordan-Masella said. ""They say, "Oh, we're going to be on the Internet.' They
get such a kick out of it.''
Capturing the essence of the community is the goal of
Jordan-Masella, whose Web sites ... landolakesfla.com and wesleychapelfla.com
... receive ""hits'' from as far away as Europe and Asia.
"We get as many as 17,000 hits a day,'' she said. ""A lot of the
people who visit the sites e-mail us and say thanks. A grandmother in Ohio was
all excited because she was able to go on and see pictures of her grandkids.''
Sports is Jordan-Masella's specialty. ""Sports, after all, doesmake the world go 'round, right?'' she said.Football is her favorite. She was a high school cheerleader in Ashtabula,
Ohio. When Land O' Lakes running back Chris Perez sustained a serious knee
injury a few weeks ago, Jordan-Masella could relate. Cheerleading took a toll on
her left knee; she had six major surgeries before finally having a knee
replacement.""I haven't had a problem since,''
Jordan-Masella said. ""It's one of the best things I've ever done.''
She met her husband, Tony, in Ashtabula when they were in ninth grade. She
relocated to Arizona after high school. He lived in Kent, Ohio. When both
attended their 10-year reunion in 1982, they fell in love and later married and
moved to Florida.""We were just
friends when we were young,'' Faith said, ""but one kiss at the reunion was all
it took.''
Tony and Donna Price, a ""soccer mom,'' originated the Land O' Lakes Web site,
which mainly featured Little League reports. Faith took it over a year-and-a-half ago. She is responsible for
editorial content and the majority of the photographs. Tony offers technical
assistance.Although sports is the
dominant topic, there are other items of community interest, such as a catalog
of Florida venomous spiders. And the Ashtabula 25-year high school reunion.""I don't think there are a lot of hits
on that,'' Jordan-Masella saidwith a smile.

of Commerce.
WE NEED A DOWNTOWN SO WE CAN CLOSE IT OFF FOR PARADES
AND DIFFERENT EVENTS (like Dade City and Zephyrhills). Where do you think
the downtown should be located? Email us your opinions, please.

The Ladies Tea on May 7, 2005 was an overwhelming success.
We sold out and then some. Many thanks to Merrill Gardens at Lutz for
hosting the event. The tea almost wasn't because I heard a lot of flak
when I first mentioned it but we decided to pursue the idea. We sold 120
tickets and the Ladies that were there all had such a great time and I heard
such nice things that it seemed as though they were waiting for an event like
this. It just may become an annual event. The tea food was great
(Dinner Is Served) and several ladies "dressed" the tables so it was definitely
a real tea. Our new Belk store in Land O' Lakes presented our Fashion Show
which consisted of 18 ladies from young to mature (including six area Beauty
Pageant Winners) and we had all sizes for ALL WOMEN. We had Zack and
Jeremy Grunewald entertaining and some selected vendors. We had some
great raffle prizes and it was just a great time. Many thanks to Michele
McCarthy, Marion Tiblier, Carla Collier, Rhonda Lane, Trena Reynolds, and of
course-Cathy Bennick of Merrill Gardens at Lutz who worked hard to make the tea
what it ended up to be-WONDERFUL!!

Faith For Mayor-Ladies Tea at
Merrill Gardens at Lutz on May 7
It's Faith for
Honorary Mayor
Faith Jordan-Masella of
LandOLakesFLA.com and WesleyChapelFLA.com has announced her candidacy for
Honorary Mayor for Land O' Lakes. A resident of Land O' Lakes for 19 years, she
has been active in Little League, CPUSA, the Chamber of Commerce, and the
schools. She is running in a race sure to attract more candidates and one in
which the candidate who "buys" the most votes by raising the most money wins the
honorary title for the coming year.
She¹s sponsored by The Laker and
Community News Publications. Her motto is " Let's keep our small-town
atmosphere despite our growth."
She is planning several events to
make money for the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce and her chosen charity.
The photographer and community leader wants a local charity that will help
local children in need.
Her first event is a
Mother/Daughter-or Whoever Tea which will be held at Merrill Gardens at Lutz on
May 7 at around noon. Scheduled events will be food and tea, a fashion show,
vendors, and photos. Details to come. She will also be selling 5x7 prints of a
sunset and a blue heron for a $5.00 donation. Other possible events will be a
Game Show or Gong Show, a 1950s, 60s and Whatever Dance, and a Barbeque
Ho-Down.
