Annual Downtown Lutz Independence Day Parade Fireman BarBQue and Festival

The Lutz Patriots Float, complete with a Liberty Bell, were a crowd favorite at the Lutz Independence Day Parade.     Also, the Lutz Cadet Squadron march, and The Lutz Boy Scouts float their way past the crowd at the Lutz Independence Day Parade.  

A community tradition, Lutz hosted an Independence Day Parade that began at Lutz Ball Park on Crooked Lane and it winded its way down to the Lutz Train Depot on Lutz Lake Fern & US 41. Festivities included Craft booths, food, entertainment, military exhibitions, Fire Dept barbeque, Cake Bake & Pie Contest. It was fun for everyone!

EcoFest Day at

Learning Gate showcased over 75 local vendors and green efforts in our community. EcoFest 2010 will be this years premier Eco-Educational experience in the Tampa Bay area dedicated to the principles of sustainability – Ecology, Equity and Economy. EcoFest 2010 was held Saturday April 24, 2010 on the school grounds in Lutz, Florida. The event was open to the public and admission for the event was free.
There was live music, food, workshops, demonstrations, informational booths, green living products and services. Many local artists, green businesses, environmental organizations, alternative health practitioners, renewable energy specialists, organic farms and gardens with produce participated at 16215 Hanna Road, Lutz, FL 33549

Guv'na race begins
Four candidates have tossed their names in the hat for the honorary title of Lutz Guv'na.  Each year the Lutz Civic Association sponsors a fundraiser where candidates earn votes by collecting money. The candidate that collects the most money will be named Guv'na at the Fourth of July parade hosted July 3.

Mr. Linton Tibbetts and Pasco County Admin John Gallagher cut the ribbon at the Grand opening of Tibbetts Lumber Company at it familiar location of SR 54 and 41 in Land O’Lakes.…Cox Lumber Company Executive Vice President Arlen Tillis and Tibbetts Lumber owner Linton Tibbetts welcome Jimmy Rane, who portrays the “YellaFella” character in the popular commercial for Yellawood products to the Grand Opening. …Pasco County Mike Olsen spoke at the Grand Opening of Mr. Linton Tibbetts’ Tibbetts Lumber Company also spoke at the original opening at this same location 31 years ago as a Pasco County Commissioner.
