Wesley
Chapel Dentistry donates mouth guards to Wesley Chapel HS Football Players
Thanks Dr. Zack!
Dr Zack Kalarickal, of Wesley Chapel Center for Family and Cosmetic Dentistry
(on left) talks to Wesley Chapel High School Senior football player Kyle
Rutkowski before he was fitted for his free custom mouth guard. Dr. Zack has
generously donated the custom made guards to any of the Varsity and Junior
Varsity football players at Wesley Chapel High School who call his office to get
fitted for one. The custom made guards do a much better job at protecting the
head and jaw against injury, as they are twice as thick and custom made to the
patient. Players who would like one of the guards (which are normally priced at
about $350) need to call 813-991-5100 and schedule an appointment for an
impression. For more information about Dr. Zack visit his website at
www.WesleyChapelDentistry.com.

Partnering
with Ad Council’s UR the Spokesperson campaign empowering teen
passengers to “Speak Up” Car crashes are the
number one killer of teens in the U.S. and WCHS is joining forces with
the UR the Spokesperson campaign to put the brakes on this
alarming trend by empowering teen passengers to “speak up” when they are
in the car with other teens and don’t feel safe. Launched in January
2007, the UR the Spokesperson campaign includes a series of radio
and television public service advertisements (PSAs), a campaign web
site, and a toolkit for classroom and community-based outreach. Created
pro bono by North Castle, a Stamford-based advertising agency that
specializes in reaching teens, the PSAs feature a stereotypical, smarmy,
over-the-top spokesperson who appears in the car to deliver safe driving
tips. The ads conclude with the message, “There is no spokesperson to
prevent reckless driving. There’s only you. Speak up.” For more
information on the campaign or to view and listen to the PSAs, please

On September 27, 2007, Wesley
Chapel High School continued their quest of empowering teens to be self
advocates when driving or riding in a car. Two assemblies, one at 8:15
a.m. and another at 10:15 a.m. in the Wesley Chapel Center for the Arts,
to the entire student body, include thought-provoking videos and guest
speakers. The guest speakers include: Bruce Murakami, founder of Safe
Teen Driver, whose wife and daughter were killed by a teen driver; John
Templeton, Jr., who was convicted of DUI manslaughter; Stephanie and
Erica Waywood, siblings of former WCHS student Larry Waywood who was
severely injured in a car accident; and Maria Laidley, mother of WCHS
student Matthew Laidley who was recently killed in a car accident.
Principal, Andy Frelick said, “The
safety of our students is a top priority for all of us in Pasco County
Schools. All passengers in a vehicle have a responsibility to ensure
everyone arrives safely.”
