The Second Amendment Club in Pasco trained about 25 college students from the Knight Rifle Association of UCF including (center) Kristen Barnes of Zephyrhills and other students (from left) April Young, Karen Chrisman, Bianca Sabrkani and Casey Jo Cooper at their clubs private range in Pasco County in self-defense. John DiGaetano, President of the club and two time Purple Heart award recipient in Viet Nam, said the student group is interested in their rights to legally carry firearms in order to protect themselves from those who mean to do them harm. “Our club has partnered with this group because we feel that if they want to carry a firearm then they should be properly trained” Said DiGaetano. The club shoots on the second Saturday of the month at their private range at Fairhaven Farms, located on Route 52, right off the Suncoast Parkway in Pasco County, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Ely Payne of Land O’Lakes High School attempts a circus catch at the first flag football game, held at Sports + Field, on Sunday April 20.  Cheryl McConnell takes the lead over Brendon Fassett and Wayne Jordan at this point of the race but everyone was a winner as the Greater Trilby Community Association held their first annual Tour de Trilby February 9, at the Trilby Community Center at the Trilby Road (CR 575) and Withlacoochee State Trail crossing.  The money raised at the event will help fund children and family events for the Trilby, Lacoochee and Trilacoochee area. The event was sponsored by the Zephyrhills Water Company, www.sharknjazz4families.com , Kims Play A Round in Trilby, United Methodist Church, Trilby Masonic Lodge, Tri-Community Boy Scouts and the Tri-Community Security Patrol.
