Community Association held their first annual Tour de Trilby February 9,

at the Wesley Chapel District Park on Boyette Road on
January 5-6. Twenty-five teams from across the USA and
Canada competed. This tournament is the high school
club lacrosse national championship for both boys' and
girls' club teams. The top tournaments from across the
country were selected as qualifying tournaments (Boys
Elite). Top finisher(s) at each qualifying tournament
received bids to compete in the Dick's Sporting Goods
Tournament of Champions.ol national championship. It was
a by-invitation only tournament. High School players
got the opportunity to meet numerous college coaches
during an open recruiting period at the tournament. The
Wesley Chapel Athletic Association has opened
registration for both girls and boys lacrosse. All
interested Pasco County residents who are encouraged to
check the website for preseason events and clinics. The
WCAA runs lacrosse programs for all ages and genders
from 1st grade through 12th grade. WCAA Youth Rec
Lacrosse for elementary school students runs Friday
nights beginning February 1st. WCAA Warriors
Competitive Lacrosse for middle and high school students
begins February 8th. Practices for both groups begin on

Cardio-tennis offered at Lake Jovita
Cardio-tennis workouts at Lake Jovita Golf and Country
Club are open to the public. Sessions, which combine
aerobic fitness with tennis training, are Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Programs for juniors and
adults range between $20-$25.The work-outs are led by
Mitch Weissbein, Lake Jovita’s director of tennis, and
John Fritts. Both are United States Professional Tennis
Association certified instructors. For more information,

Annual Flapjack 5K Run held on December 2 at the Land O’
Lakes Rec Center that was put on by the Central Pasco
Chamber of Commerce. 6344-p… 6645-p… Felix Soto, of Land
O’ Lakes High School, placed first in the Annual
Flapjack 5K Run held on December 2 at the Land O’ Lakes
Rec Center that was put on by the Central Pasco Chamber
of Commerce. His winning time was 15:38. Organizer
Kris Keppel, the Land O’ Lakes High School Cross Country
Coach, and avid community person, did a great job with
about 300 runners competing. The 5 K (which is about
three miles) race and the one mile race enables people
to compete alone or with teams made up of categories:
Brother /Brother, Brother /Sister, Sister /Sister,
Husband /Wife, Mother Daughter, Father /Daughter,
Mother/Son, and Father/Son, or family teams.
