Customer Appreciation at Jiffy Lube

Click picture to enlarge

Jiffy Lube in Land O Lakes had a Customer Appreciation Day by providing hotdogs and refreshments as well as having a Dale Earnhardt lookalike (a serious lookalike!!) bring one of Dales #3 cars out for the community to check out. “Sonny” was a movie double for Dale in the first Earnhardt film and definitely made onlookers do a double take as they drove by. Prior to pulling out his #3 car by the roadway on Hwy 54 in Land O Lakes, Sonny showed off a perfect donut left on a side road nearby that he had made earlier…Sonny was happy to sign autographs and give away free pictures of himself which show him hanging from the window of Dale’s car. Jiffy Lube District Manager, Randy Johnston was on hand to encourage folks to come in anytime for an oil change or touch free car wash.

 MAGNOLIA FARM BREEDS NEW BABY

Click picture to enlarge

Owner Sandy Haya Roser (also known as Ms. Roser at Lutz Elementary) has successfully bred and trained horses in the Lutz area for over 25 years. A new baby (pictured) was just born on Presidents Day, one week ago at the Farm. Sandy and her family travel all over the State showing their horses as well as giving private lessons at the Farm. They are gearing up for their Summer program soon and still hold after school basic riding and handling classes each week throughout the year. You can also purchase Hay and well mannered horses if you are in the market for a new addition to your family.

At 8, my daughter started taking riding lessons at the Farm and soon bought her first horse, a flea bitten gray mare that she absolutely adored. It taught her responsibility and patience, love and kindness and most of all, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It made such an impact on her that, as an adult now, she has chosen the Equine Industry as her chosen career field. If you would like to introduce your child to the world of riding and you are interested in learning more about classes, sales or boarding for your own horse, please contact Sandy Roser at Magnolia Farm at 948-2846 or the Barn phone at 813-948-6171.

Temple Twirlers Square Dance Lutz

Click >>> Here

The Temple Twirlers Square Dance Team is seeking new members to join the fun in Lutz at the new Jazzercise center at 19012 US 41N across from the Lutz Library. All ages are welcome and the Twirlers strongly encourage young teens from 13-19 yrs of age to come out and learn the traditional dance steps which are presented by a “caller”  and can be as lively and entertaining as they make them! This is a great form of low key exercise and social interaction with friends and neighbors.

Far from being pale and static, modern western-style square dancing is vibrant and growing. New ideas and figures are introduced each year, insuring that square dancing will not become boring and get into the rut of sameness. As interesting and enjoyable as square dancing is, it is not difficult. This activity can be enjoyed alike by the young and old, the handicapped and the able-bodied. All that is necessary is a thorough familiarity with a number of basic figures or movements, which are called in various combinations on the dance floor. Knowledge of and practice in these basic movements are best obtained through instruction is given in a series of weekly sessions which, for lack of a more descriptive term, are called beginners classes.

Having learned to square dance, new hobbyists find themselves in a brand new, heretofore unknown world. They are now among the millions of dancers active in the United States and internationally and because of standardized figures, they can dance throughout the United States and other countries.  The above excerpt was found in the archives of MACA (Mid Atlantic Challenge Association).

For more information on joining the Temple Twirlers who meet in Lutz on Saturday afternoons, please contact Flo Byington at 813-810-5548.

Remote Cars to Lake Park in Lutz

This father-son team from Palm Harbor who brought their Remote Cars to Lake Park in Lutz to race. These cars can be gas or electric powered and run around $450-500. There was a State Racing Circuit held in mid February at Lake Park. The father and son who were enjoying time together on Saturday are Henry (dad) and Ben (son) Kremer. These cars can be gas or electric powered and run around $450-500.

A State RC Car racing circuit comes to Lake Park every year but local enthusiasts participate weekly on the quality RC track at Lake Park. Bleacher seating is available to bring the family to watch the crazy flips and turns of these powerful little cars!

The Diffeence between Toy Remote Cars and Hobby RC Cars

The RC cars and trucks that you see on TV and in toy stores offer a great

way for young people to get involved in a rewarding hobby; however, there

are few similarities between these toy-grade vehicles and those you'll find at a

hobby shop. For example, most hobby-grade R/C vehicles are available as an

unassembled kit. You build the vehicle from the ground up, piece by piece, so

you'll know exactly how it works and how to fix it if something breaks. With few

exceptions, you'll be able to make repairs yourself without having to send it

back to the manufacturer because you'll know the vehicle inside and out.

Also, hobby-grade R/C vehicles are generally made of better materials than

toygrade vehicles, so they can withstand the severe punishment of a backyard

obstacle course or a high-speed cartwheel at the local parking lot. Hobby kits

are designed to provide long life and superior performance.
