The very first Miss Pasco, Marjorie Baldwin McGough, Miss Pasco 1948, proves that true beauty is ageless. Also featured were the former Miss Pasco County winners from previous years. The Miss Pasco Pageant was started in 1948 and since this was the 60th anniversary, former queens that could be located were invited to be special guests at the pageant held on February 24th.

Ashley Ramsey, a student at USF, is the 2009 Miss Zephyrhills.  She was crowned on March 21 at the pageant that was held at Zephyrhills High School.  The Rotary Club of Zephyrhills Daybreak sponsored the event and Manny Funes was Master of Ceremonies. ... Brittany Monbarren, Miss Zephyrhills 2008, was surprised when Mayor W. Cliff McDuffie presented her with the Community Service Award.  She made over 60 appearances during her reign as Miss Zephyrhills.  Victoria Williams, of Mitchell High School, was crowned Miss Zephyrhills Outstanding Teen on March 21 at Zephyrhills High School.  The Rotary Club of Zephyrhills Daybreak sponsored the event and Manny Funes was Master of Ceremonies. Chloe Lupo, of Freedom High School, is the new Miss Pasco County Fair.  She won the title in a very competitive contest on February 21 at Dan Cannon Auditorium.  She sang “Crazy Dreams” for the talent portion and her platform is Volunteerism-Just Get Up and Volunteer.  Jacqueline Urbuteit, a student at UF, was crowned the 2009 Miss Pasco County, at the pageant held on February 21 at Dan Cannon Auditorium.  She sang, “At Last” for the talent portion of the pageant, and her platform is “Upward Bound-Mentoring Children about the Importance of Education.”

Allyshia Gupta, of Centennial Middle School, won the title of Teen Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium.  Pasco Elementary’s Kayla Ortiz was crowned Tiny Miss Heart of Florida.  The pageant was held at the Dan Cannon Auditorium.Kenzi Ennis, of Woodland Elementary, was crowned Little Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium.

 

Lauren Perez, of Wiregrass Ranch High School, was crowned the 2009 Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium.Megan Palmer, of Lacoochee Elementary, won the title of Wee Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium. Nisha Gupta, of St. Anthony’s School, was crowned Junior Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium. Woodland Elementary’s Taylor Tomberlin was crowned Young Miss Heart of Florida at the pageant held on February 20 at the Dan Cannon Auditorium.

Jessica Castle, a 2008 Pasco High School Graduate and future PHCC student was crowned Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28.  Liz Richards directed the event. Alexandria  Woodcock, of Centennial Middle School, was first runner-up at the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. Blake Jefferson, a student at San Antonio Elementary, was a contestant in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28. Hailey Ann Wade, of Centennial Middle School, participated in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. McKenzie Green, of Centennial Elementary was crowned Young Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28. San Antonio Elementary student Morgan Jefferson participated in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant.

Miss Wesley Chapel Pageant

The Miss Wesley Chapel Pageant was held on May 10, Mother’s Day, at the Performing Arts Center at Wesley Chapel.  Many of the contestants wished the mothers’ in the audience a Happy Mother’s Day or gave special wishes to their own mothers’ who they referred to as their heroine or favorite person.  This speaks highly of the quality of the 32 girls who competed. Some mothers won the special gift of having their daughters win a pageant title.  Pictured are (from left): Carla Ramotar, with daughter Johara Ramotar, who was crowned Miss Wesley Chapel, Kathy Leung, with daughter Shirley Leung, who was crowned Teen Miss Wesley Chapel and Teen Miss Photogenic (the first year for this award), Christa Watson, with daughter Alexus Watson, who was crowned Junior Miss Wesley Chapel, Stephanie Rios, with daughter Elisha Monet Rios, who won Little Miss Wesley Chapel, Yolaine Groeller, with daughter Santanna Groeller, who won Tiny Miss Wesley Chapel.  The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce put on the event. Dade City Spring Fashion Show

There were definitely signs of springtime on stage last weekend, in Dade City at the first annual Fashion Show, Fundraiser, Silent Auction, and Luncheon, held at Clayton Hall and the Pasco County Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 27th, 2008.  Local models looked like they stepped right off of the cover of Vogue magazine, while strutting across the stage and

down the runway, all the while parading fun spring outfits, cocktail dresses, and evening gowns, from Bealls Department Store and a high

      The Little Miss Kumquat Festival Pageant was held at the auditorium of Pasco Middle School, in Dade City. The contestants, ages 1 through 17, competed in one of five age groups. Girls ages 7 through 17 wore long gowns while girls age 1 through 6, party dresses. Also, contestants were judged for onstage speeches and casual wear. Girls ages 13-17 participated in the Miss Outstanding Teen Kumquat Festival. Girls and women ages 17-24 participated in the Miss Kumquat Festival. The Miss Outstanding Teen Kumquat Festival and the Miss Kumquat Festival Pageant was held at Pasco Middle School on Sunday, Jan. 20, following the Little Miss Kumquat Festival Pageant.

      Winners of the Miss Outstanding Teen Kumquat Festival and the Miss Kumquat Festival Pageant will advance to the Miss Outstanding Florida Teen and Miss Florida pageants held in St. Petersburg. Also, they will reign over the Kumquat Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 26, in downtown Dade City.

 Marisa Barbarise 1907 …Marisa Barbarise 11years, of Pine View Middle School in Land O’ Lakes, daughter of James and Nancy Barbanse, was the winner in the Miss Dade City Pageant in the  Junior Miss division on January 20.  

 Shirley Leung 1899 …Shirley Leung 15 years of Academy at the Lakes in Land O’ Lakes, was the winner in the Miss Dade City Pageant in the Junior Teen division on January 20.

 

 Alyssa Moreno 1873 …Overcome with emotion upon winning the crown, Alyssa Moreno 16 months, of Dade City was the winner in the Miss Kumquat Pageant (Bud division) on January 20 as Mom helps keep her together.

 Makayla Smith …Makayla Smith 3 years, of Dade City was the winner in the Miss Dade City Pageant in the Jr Little Miss division on January 20.

 Kayla Ortiz 1878 …Kayla Ortiz 5 years, of Dade City was the winner in the Tiny Miss Dade City Pageant in the Jr Little Miss division on January 20.

 Kaelyn Kwiecinski 1880 Kaelyn Kwiecinski 4 years, was the winner in the Miss Kumquat Pageant (Bloom division) on January 20.  

 Shelby Surratt 1888 Shelby Lynn Surratt 7, of Dade City, daughter of Keith and Shirley Surratt was the winner in the Miss Kumquat Pageant (Blosssom division) on January 20.

 Courtney Graham 1909   …Courtney Graham 8 years of Centennial Elementary in Dade City was the winner in the Miss Dade City Pageant in the  Little Miss division on January 20.

 Brittany Gray 1891 Brittany LeAnne Gray 11 years, of Pasco Middle School, daughter of Dean Gray and Gaye Holmes-Gray in Dade City was the winner in the Miss Kumquat Pageant (Maiden division) on January 20.

 Harley Redditt 1905  …Harley Redditt 14 years of Zephyrhills High School, in Zephyrhills was the winner in the Miss Kumquat Pageant (Princess division) on January 20.

Katie Pennington, 18, a senior at Pasco High School, performed a lyrical dance at the "Spotlight on Talent" competition held on March 31 at the Pasco Schools Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel.

     Over 180 talented young people were auditioned but only 108 contestants (in 39 acts), were selected to participate in the 24th annual "Spotlight on Talent" competition on March 31 at the Pasco Schools Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel.  The contest, sponsored by the Heritage Arts Center Association and produced by Barbara Friedman, Rebecca Groomes, and Alicia Guanio, delighted a packed house of over 700 family, friends and lovers of the arts. Judge Lynn Tepper was the Master of ceremonies and presided over the evening festivities.…

     Taking first prize in the ensemble group was the ensemble cast of “Les Etoiles.” Winning the overall award in the contest was Jason Nong, a 12 year old student at Benito Middle School.…Presley Plummer an 8 years old student at Centennial Elementary Schools performed a ballet dance at the "Spotlight on Talent" competition held on March 31. Ms Pasco & Ms Pasco Co Fair

   Twelve young women vied for two titles Saturday that could eventually win them the Miss America crown. The contestants, ranging in age from 17 through 20, will compete for the titles of Miss Pasco County and Miss Pasco County Fair at the annual pageant held in conjunction with the Pasco County Fair. The two queens will both advance to the Miss Florida Pageant. The winner there will compete for the Miss America title. Since the local pageant is affiliated with the Miss America Scholarship Program, the seven contestants will compete in the same categories as all Miss America contestants: evening gown, swimsuit, talent, personal interview, and on-stage question. They also had a personal platform that each personally advocate.
