Pete Bonk, an award winning acrylic and oil painter, was the March artist of the month at Alexandria Art Gallery. In this show Pete introduced a new series of framed life studies: drawings and paintings of the nude human figure. Pete is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, who currently resides in Lutz. He has studied painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Ringling School of Art, and the University of South Florida. The artist is a member of PAVA (Professional Association of Visual Artists), the Art League of Manatee County and Artist's Unlimited. Whether painting the nude human form or wild animals endowed with endearing human traits, his art reflects his love of painting, producing images that are bright, colorful, sometimes whimsical and always thought provoking. Pete's unique and interesting art work is collected by a number of patrons throughout the U.S.

It’s a “ghoulish good time” for all as the zoo comes alive and transforms into a family-friendly fright zone.  Beware of things that go “bump in the night” as you meander through the shadowy darkness of haunted houses and spooky trails or find a haunting good time for little ones with free unlimited zoo rides all evening. Remember to have your “mummy” bring you. ZooBoo, presented by Bank of America, will be held October 5-6, 11-14, 18-21 and 24-28.
